Zhongyi Optics has unveiled four fast prime lenses for mirrorless camera users at Photokina 2014.

The company has been making lenses for over 30 years, 20 of those years for Mitakon, a company which they have now bought.

Zhongyi Optics 42.5mm f/1.2 Hands-On Photos of Equipment

The first of the lenses is a 42.5mm f/1.2 lens, which the company say is ideal for low light shooting and give the user greater control over selective focus and shallow depth of field. The lens has 7 elements in 9 groups to provide great image quality and colour rendering. It's also great for portrait shooting.

The second is a 24mm f/1.7, a fast prime wide angle lens, ideal for everyday use. It has an ultra close minimum focus distance of just 15cm, making it good for macro photography, too. The lens has 9 elements in 8 groups and uses ED lenses in order to minimise chromatic aberrations. It weights just 246g.

Both of the above lenses will be available in Sony E Micro Four Thirds and Fujifilm X mounts. Pre order for the lenses will start at the end of September 2014. The RRP of the 42.5mm lens will be 359 USD, while the RRP for the 24mm will be 289 USD.

Also announced was the 50mm f/0.95, currently available in Sony E-Mount, with Fuji X mounts and Micro Four Thirds mounts to follow soon. It will be available for 899 USD.

The company has also relaunched the 35mm f/0.95 lens, originally made for Fujifilm XF mount under the Mitakon name back in 2012, for MFT and Sony E-Mount. The lens features 10 elements in 7 groups, with 10 blades and 30cm min focus. It will be available for 799 USD.
