Photographing Infants and Toddlers is quite a niche area of photography, and this book is a visual sourcebook for digital portrait photographers.
Basically, the book is filled with images of babies and young children, to give you an idea of the poses that work well for each age group. Images incorporating the parents are also included, and explained is how you can use parents or siblings as a kind of prop or support for the child in the photo.
At the back of the book there is a small section on posing fundamentals and basic rules of posing children and babies. Covered is how to attract the gaze of an infant to get an image of them looking at the camera, as well as using soft toys and playing games such as hide and seek to keep their attention. How to get a toddler's stance, head position and arm position correct through clever encouragement and use of child sized furniture and props is also looked at.
Overall, this book will provide a source of inspiration for posing babies, infants and toddlers. It is ideal for gathering ideas about photographing, but these isn't much in the way of technical details, or camera settings used for the photos.
