Elevate The Everyday: A Photographic Guide To Picturing Motherhood is a unique book on a very specific area of photography.

The book is, in essence, a guide for mothers to use as they watch their children grow up on taking better shots of their children. The book is a mixture of photography tips, tricks and blog entries by a variety of mothers who have used photography creatively.

The book has a very personal feel, and it is almost as if you have stepped into Tracey's world as she shares her journey through motherhood with you. She writes from the viewpoint of almost any mother, she is busy, she is not very much into technology, and yet she still manages to take these amazing images of her daughters growing up. She gives the feeling that anyone can pick up a camera and begin documenting their lives a little more skilfully, and this is completely true.

The book starts with how to use your camera and basic techniques to get good focus, and simple settings that can take your photos to the next level, whilst all the time showing deeply meaningful family images that anyone would treasure.

There are then several chapters on everything from composition and creativity to chapters covering daily routine and what is best to photograph in various rooms of the house to really document the daily life and activities of you and your children.

The book is great for giving parents inspiration and ideas to take their family photography to the next level. It shows the no matter what your skill level, you can pick up a camera and take some really meaningful and poignant shots of you and your kids as they grow up.
