iPad for Digital Photographers is a guide on not only using your iPad for taking photos, but how it can be used in your day to day life as a photographer.
Much smaller than a computer, an iPad can be ideal for processing images on the move, transferring them straight to the internet, and loads more. Author Derrick Story encourages us to move with technology and use it to our advantage, rather than living in the past.
The book begins by looking at adding pictures to your iPad. We are shown different ways to get your pictures on the iPad, from the obvious solution of taking the photos with the iPad, to transferring images on to the iPad through a special SD card adapter and getting your images from the cloud.
We are guided through how to organize photos on the iPad, and then how to edit photos on the iPad. It covers a handful of image editing apps, but there are a lot more out there that can also be used. The majority of the tips are based on iPhoto.
The book also looks at transferring your images to the computer and the cloud, and includes easy to follow steps and pictures of stages of transferring so you know you're on the right track.
The iPad can also be used to present your mobile portfolio, by using presentation software. There is also a section on shooting, editing and sharing movies, as well as using your iPad to deal with business, such as money and finding directions.
The book is ideal for someone who is a complete novice to using the iPad, and wants to use it more in their photography. Steps are very easy to follow, and Derrick's style of writing is very casual, making the book seem less formal and more friendly in its guidance.
