From parties and raves to Sir Paul McCartney and his daughter, this photographer has photographed Liverpool from all angles.
"I started taking pictures when I was 13, I didn't know why I wanted to be a photographer or why I wanted to take photographs all I knew is I wanted to take pictures. For my birthday I was given a camera and I also got some money and I bought the Beatles Red and Blue albums and simultaneously I discovered my two obsessions. It wasn't until six years later that I realised I could combine the two," explained Mark.
His book, Pop Cultured is all about the music industry and how music has played such a vibrant and important role in the city of Liverpool. His photographs are of bands of all ages, type and size and his work sits comfortably at the side of his twenty year, photographic life story. For anyone interested in music this is a great read. It's entertaining as well as informing and it gives you a real insight into Liverpool's music scene.
