Retromania The Funkiest Cameras of Photography's Golden Age is certainly a captivating read, if nothing else.

For someone relatively new to photography, perhaps someone who has grown up in the digital age and doesn't really know anything of the time before, this book is a real eye opener to cameras of all decades. It is great to see how cameras evolved over the years, especially these, the funkiest of all time!

The book starts right back in 1907, with a Kodak Brownie, perhaps the first hand held camera available to the masses. Set out in decades, the book is easy to follow, and it's easy to find a particular period of time that you're interested in.

The book doesn't just stop at the end of film cameras, either, it is bang up to date with some of the very latest funky and retro cameras, including the Pentax K-01, released in 2012. Each double page spread informs you about the camera, and gives you examples of the instructions that came with it. This book really does let you go back in time and re discover all these amazing retro cameras from the past.

Retromania is a great idea for a gift to anyone who is nostalgic about photography and even to the younger generation, it is a captivating read that can be returned to again and again.
