This isn't a guide to portrait photography, it's more of a book that takes a look at portrait photography, what people take and how this genre in particular can produce some rather thought-provoking images. It takes a closer look at a group of photographer's work as well as taking an almost journey through the history of portrait photography.

As we said, it's not something you're going to pick up and learn how to take better pictures from but it is interesting to see how portrait styles have changed over the years and it makes you wonder what sorts of images we'll be taking in 10, 100 or even a 1000 years time.
