The Daily Mirror picture desk was thrown back to the era of black and white photography. This is a medium it was working with until the late 1980’s and many of the editorial department reminisced of the monochrome days of old trawling through black and white contact sheets looking for THE image, that told the story. Looking through the once again outstanding shortlisted entries, one image to us stood out.
Not easy to choose from so many great photographs, we loved the Dark City Streets by Paul Cook it looks so Dickension but ultra modern!, the Helper by Zak Waters is also a wonderful image but for us the winner has to be Fountain of Youth by KangaRu, it instantly says fun , youth and summer all in one go, an image well worthy of winning this months competition. Well done!
