A good response with over 500 entries and some really powerful photographs. Just about every interpretation of fire was covered and the winners and shortlist is probably one of the best collections we've had yet.
First place goes to Martin Wait for his fantastic dark portrait of a fire breather, created as far as we are aware in Photoshop. The tones are superb, the fire very realistic and the overall balance excellent.
2nd place goes to David Wandless for his action shot of a fire brigade, we had several shots of firemen in action but this had the edge.
Graeme Cammack takes 3rd spot for a wonderful backlit portrait balanced with foreground illumination from just a candle. The exposure is spot on creating a very impactful image.
Digital expert Victor Habbick is close behind with a great composite titled "fire dragon". This displays a top background to a sharply focused creature. Well done all.
Congratulations also to those who made the shortlist and commiserations to the rest. Better luck next time with the theme white.
