My Planet

By K_T
Went here with a photographer friend of mine, it is the canal near where I live. The canal was frozen at the time, but the boats had broken it up.

I know planets are not everyones cup of tea, but if you fancy having ago:

Get a big panoramic photo with plently of sky and plently of floor in (you may need to take it 5 shots wide and 3 shots deep so say 15 images, and stitch them together using photoshop.
Crop the image then resize without constraints to make a square (it will look stretched and pixelated).
Flip it upside down.
Filter distort > Polor Coordinates.

Take your photography to the next level and beyond...

I LOVE this. Planets may not have been my cup of tea but I really enjoy experimenting and I certainly enjoy the images of experimenters.
So -- 1) I love this image and 2) I really appreciate your taking the time to include the detailed instructions on how you accomplished this.
This is the kind of exchange that makes this site so exciting for me.
Thank you.

This is fabulous! We're it not for the fact that I don't have a 15 shot panorama, I'd have a go!
