Padley Gorge-ous

By WarrenD
Having set the alarm for 3.15am i met up with a couple of friends just outside Hathersage in the Peak district national park at 5.30am. The idea was to shoot the sunrise from the top of the moors. However on arival at the top of the moors we were greeted by strong winds and thick fog which prevented there being any chance of a sunrise. Unfortunately these conditions also accounted for my friends unattended Canon 1D mk2 which had been blown over the cliff edge!

Feeling totally demoralised and numb to the bone, not only through coldness but through what had just happened, we headed for the nearest cafe for a hot full english breakfast. Over which we decided that we would head out to Padley gorge in the hope of capturing some the glorious autumnal foliage. Our spirits were certainly lifted when we feasted our eyes on this beautiful scene.
