Quiet at the Mill

By MattB1987
Hello everyone,

Well today I went out with the camera on what appeared to be a very grey day but I thought I would see what I could get. As I got to How Hill the sun started to break through the clouds and some colour made the scenery wake up a tad.

I took a few shots, a few of which I was rather excited about but I thought I would play with them chronologically and see what I get. This is the first one, I thought I would try a long exposure (as I hadn't tried one with the new camera yet) and I was pleased with the outcome and was even more pleased with the lead in lines the sky formed.

After a bit of cropping and touching up I got to the point where I was satisfied and thought I would share it with you lovely people again.

Thank you for taking the time to look at my photo and of course all comments and critiques are much appreciated.

Cheers,

Matt

The clouds and reflections converge nicely on the mill, Matt.

Superb long exposure image. Must get there again soon before the boats start to arrive again!

As you say the lead in lines created by the sky are fabulous, as the milky water.

This is a cracker. I've only managed to get to How Hill once and it was summer so it was crammed with boats, the muted colours on this and the mirrorlike water make it seem so much calmer. Love it
