Judges Writeup
Vanishing by Jellyfire was chosen by the judges as the winner of the 'Slow Shutter Speed' competition.
The shot has a simple yet graphical feel to it thanks to the plain canvas that the long exposure's created from the sea and sky, blurring the two as a result. The shot has a sense of isolation yet is calming at the same time and most importantly, it works really well.
The scene looks as if it goes on forever and the wooden structure adds just the right amount of interest to the shot as well as acting as a guide for the eye which follows the groyne until it settles at the end.
It's a great shot and a worthy winner of the prize. Well done!
