An embrace after the rain

By nmacabales
Taken just after the World Wide Photowalk in Paris last October 13. A lot of the group decided to have coffee after a long, and rain-drenched, photowalk. A few people I met lived in Paris and volunteered to show me around before they went home. We were at this small square near the Louvre, looking for interesting things to shoot, and I found the reflections on the wet pavement interesting. I started shooting at people's shadows and a few minutes later spotted this couple who were in an embrace. I took a couple of shots of them and moved on.

When I was reviewing the photos, I immediately knew I liked this. In post-processing, I decided to go for black in white since I found the color of the girl's skirt, which was blue, a bit distracting (since the background was plain and what I wanted to emphasize was the shape of these two figures). I boosted clarity/structure and added a vignette to de-emphasize the white electricity box on the upper right hand corner.
