Taken in Florence, Italy in September 2012.
Technical: Olympus Pen E-PL2. 45mm/F1.8 lens. 1/400 F1.8 ISO 200. Taken as JPEG, with post processing in Lightroom 3.

While in Florence there were many Senegalese immigrants on the streets, making whatever living they could by selling things to tourists or even the locals. Florence is normally hot, so they mainly sold things like sun glasses, hats and caps, ethnic bangles etc. But on one day during our stay it rained, instantly they found umbrellas from nowhere and switched to selling them to the passers by who had been caught out in the rain unprepared. It really spoke to their enterprise in seeing a need and aiming to supply that need. Great business thinking on the streets of Florence.

This shot is of a couple of them in a small square, looking hopeful. The front man smiling at the passers by, while the back office guy deals with administration, some wares are on shown on a blanket that can be quickly rolled up if the local police happen to stroll by.
