For more than 46 years, the Bureau of Freelance Photographers has been helping photographers like you to sell their pictures. Our monthly Market Newsletter tells you what editors and other picture buyers are currently looking for – and how much they’re paying. It gives detailed information on new and established markets where you can sell your pictures for £££s – including magazines, card and calendar producers, book publishers, picture agencies, etc.
In fact, each issue of Market Newsletter is packed with opportunities for the enterprising photographer – whether amateur or professional. Our skilled team of researchers are constantly looking out for new markets where you can sell your pictures. As well as giving specific details of subjects needed now, it also features profiles of successful BFP members. There is even a “Pictures that Sell” section featuring examples of photos that members have sold.
Here, then, is exactly what you get as a member of the BFP:

Market Newsletter
Who is currently looking for pictures? What subjects do they require? How much will they pay? This unique monthly guide will keep you in touch with the market for freelance pictures.

The BFP Official Handbook
While the monthly Newsletter keeps you in touch with current picture requirements, the annual Freelance Photographer’s Market Handbook presents an overview of the market, listing hundreds of places where you can sell your pictures, including magazines, greetings card and calendars, books, newspapers, and picture agencies. The magazine section alone lists over 600 publications, together with full details of the type of pictures – subject matter etc – they require. Full members receive the 250-page Handbook in October each year, as it is published.

Advisory & Mediation Services
As a freelance or aspiring freelance, you’ll never feel alone as a member of the BFP. Expert help and assistance with any freelancing problem is readily available.

Discounts on a wide range of photographic items. Books on different aspects of freelancing are also available at discount prices.
