Formed in 1950, our aim is to encourage and maintain interest in one of the most openly accessible art forms - Photography.
Visitors and new members always receive a very warm welcome at our meetings. Advice and help is readily available from all levels of expertise for those who are just curious through to novices and advanced photographers.
Club members range from beginners to very advanced and experienced photographers, several of whom have been members for over 25 years.
Our meetings are light hearted and friendly with plenty of time for discussion etc. especially the workshops which are great fun.
Improvement of technique and knowledge is aided by regular competitions both within the club itself and externally between clubs. Competition entries are divided into two groups - General and Advanced to enable a fair judging system to be used.
No distinction is made between traditional or digital methods of photography, both types are welcomed and both are practised widely by club members. It is only the end result that is important, not how it was captured or printed, neither does it matter which type of camera was used - we have members using everything from basic compacts to SLR, rangefinders and digital!
