The RPS was founded in the 1980’s to ‘promote participation and enjoyment in photography’, a mission it continues to this day in and around South Nottinghamshire.

Our Society welcomes members aged 18 and older: Amateurs and professionals, beginners and more experienced picture takers, artists and scientists and we aim to help one another to get more out of our photography by meeting and discussing photography with like minded individuals, to develop our practical photographic skills and techniques with our cameras and in the digital darkroom through workshops and practical sessions, and to hone our critique skills.
