The club has around 100 members from all parts of Britain, which is split up in 8 circles each circle run by a circle secretary who collects images off the members then sends them in a folder ,in a rota to all members ( with around 12 people in each circle).Each members in turn writes comments in the folder about other members images then marks each image out of 20 then posts all the folders to the next member on the rota.Once the circle has been completed the secretary adds the marks awarded then a 1st,2nd and 3rd place is declared these images go into a competition called the founders cup which is judged by a top judge. The club covers all aspects of photography,black and white,digital and transparencies. The club has been in existence since 1937 and was formally called the Half Plate Postal Club.We meet up once a year at a Rally which is held at various parts of the country over a weekend this Year at Rydal Hall in the Lake District at the Rally an Exhibition is displayed of the member work and trophies awarded for various categories.
