The Royal Photographic Society is a registered charity which exists to promote photography and to support photographers. It is also Britain's largest photography organisation with over 11,000 members ranging from amateur to professional photographers, picture editors, curators and educators. Membership is open to anyone with an interest in photography.
The RPS runs workshops and courses, exhibitions and competitions and a distinctions programme. It also acts as a spokes organisation for the media and government on matters affecting photography.
