This is my first DSLR after using a Pentax analog camera.. I must say it's a very good camera.. I know the 7D might be slightly ahead but I still prefer this camera.. The swivel screen is awesome.. Making me take shots from unimaginable angles.. The quality of the pictures and videos is very good. I've never regretted owning it for a day. :)

Love it. :D
This is my first Digital SLR, having moved up from compact digital cameras (Kodak and Sony). Upon retirement, I decided to invest in a really good camera and my timing was such that the 60D was just being released to the market. It seemed to have everything I was looking for and more. While the price was a little over my budget, the features and quality more than justify it. It handles beautifully, feels good and solid in my hands, and I continue to marvel at the quality of the images it produces. Those 18 MP really prove their worth when cropping or enlarging, and the ability to shoot in RAW really expands the possibilities. The software provided, by the way, is excellent.
Though I primarily use the viewfinder ( I'm old school, having cut my teeth on an Olympus 35mm SLR many years ago, the swivel LCD monitor is a real plus when shooting in awkward positions (over your head, very low to the ground, for example) and that big 3' screen is great for reviewing shots. Plus you can close it completely into the camera back to protect the screen.
All in all, a real value for my money. And I haven't even Touched the video abilities yet Can't wait! :D
