Only had this camera a few weeks having gone over to M43 briefly and on coming back to the Canon fold bought one and a 7D. Shot a wedding with the 70D last weekend and have to say I was blown away with the IQ from this camera (combined with Sigma EX 17-50 2.8) even at high ISO - very little noise which was soon dealt with in LR5 - tip, if you use Elements, you will need Elements 12 to process RAW files but I have no problem with LR5.

I've owned this camera for just over 12 months now and I love it. I had been trying to decide between a 7D with it's high drive rate and efficient autofocus system and the 60D with the vary angle screen, a bonus for everything other than sports and wildlife. When Canon announced the 70D with what appeared to be the best of both worlds I had to have one. I've not been disappointed. I purchased with a Sigma 17-70 'contemporary' lens, which has been a great walk-around optic.

The camera controls are intuitive and if you've owned a Canon DSLR previously there will be no surprises. There are a lot of dedicated buttons which allow direct control for most settings with the viewfinder to the eye. You can adjust everything very easily with the responsive touchscreen; it took me perhaps half an hour to wonder how I ever managed without this feature.

Performance is really very good. Noise is really well controlled even at high ISO settings so you shouldn't miss a shot where flash is not an option (or desirable) The focus is fast and accurate and you have a number of options to further adapt this to your liking. Battery performance is also very good, I recently spent a day out at Goodwood Revival and took just under 1000 shots using a combination Live View and viewfinder all with IS lenses often following the action with autofocus and IS engaged for quite lengthy periods and didn't need to change the battery.

Having mentioned Live View, the version on this camera is way better the previous iterations, fast and accurate making the vary angle screen a real bonus... no more scrabbling on the ground to get a bugs eye view of a mushroom or similar.

If you like video you'll also be impressed with full HD available and the Live View focussing system really comes into it's own here... unfortunately video doesn't float my boat so other than a little play I can't really tell you much more.

Overall owning this camera has been a joy. Really easy handling and very reliable results. Highly recommended.
