Built like a tank as you would expect and handles beautifully if like me you don't mind the weight. The only drawback is the poor high ISO performance. ISO400 is safe and ISO800 absolute max.
I still prefer the results to my more modern (but cheaper) Nikons.

A proper Pro Nikon, built like a brick, but handles beautifully despite the weight. When coupled with a Pro quality lens like the AFS 17-55mm f/2.8 the results are outstanding. In fact far better than a modern APS Nikon. The only drawback is the poor high ISO performance. Up to 400 is fine, 800 is pushing it a bit but very useable. Above 800 forget it.
