The D7000 includes a range of new features including 16.2 effective megapixels with the newly developed Nikon DX format CMOS image sensor. The camera boasts a new image-processing engine, EXPEED 2, which promises to deliver higher image quality, higher speed processing and multiple functions with more power. The D7000's increased ISO sensitivity (100-6400, extendable up to 25600) to help when capturing fast moving subjects or in poor light situations without the flash.

idiot proof...superb point and shoot camera....rofl......

I have had the D7000 for 1 month now as a replacement for my old D70. It has performed beyond my expectations and yields great quality images even at high ISO in low lighting situations. I would happily recommend it as an excellent all round SLR.
