Personal pros & cons:
Pros
- Small size
- huge zoom range
- well made and solid build
- plenty of features
- good image quality at low ISO
Cons
- no C-AF (only in movie mode)
- noise at ISO >800 but 'superior auto mode' can help a bit
There's more pros than cons with this camera. A lot of people expect RX100 quality but that would cost more than double the price of the HX99. You get what you pay for and for £450 it is a lot of camera in a very small frame.
Perfect for travelling, wildlife photography, landscape, and macro. Not perfect for fast action shots like flying birds as no continuous auto focus is available.
