Another site reports that of the 10 first MkIIIs arrived in Denmark, already 4 have been returned to Canon, due to display problems and other failures. One other has 3-5% of the files with errors, mostly stripes.
There is also a thread on a german forum suggesting a further delay in shipping - more inspection is deemed necessary due to a worse than expected return rate (AF problems and image banding)
Also see here about some AF problems

reading through the given link its more than a few with probelms, some birders are saying they need to buy a eos1dmk2n back very soon, the mk3 seems to not cope very well with flying objects or bad backgrounds, so glad I am not getting rid of mine for a mk3 just yet, let them iron the problems out for 6months or so

Peter , you hang in on there buddy with your "woefully indequate 1D Mk2 and that little 5D!" LOL. Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit, but it's the funniest! On a serious level i am thinking of upgrading my 10D to a 5D, do you like your 5D and how does it compare image quality wise to the 1d M2?
cheers scott

Me? ..... sarcastic ..... ?
I like the 5D very much in terms of dynamic range, image quality, detail capture and high ISO performance. However the 1D Mk2 at ISOs up to 1000 and careful exposure to A4 is almost indistuishable from the 5D; for my weddings the 1D Mk2 writes to two cards simulataneously thus avoiding corrupt card possibilities.
To conclude for my peronal work I prefer the 5D and for weddings the 1D Mk2
