5D mark 1 mirror fell off

Disaster, double disaster as the weather conditions this morning were stunning.

Apparently its a known issue and there was a recall... which i missed as I fell out of love with taking photos some years ago but started to pic the camera up again a few weeks ago!

Does anyone have any idea of potential cost to get this repaired?

Bad luck on that one, but you are right about the recall. I got my free fix from A J Johnstone in Glasgow , and I'd suggest dropping them an email or phoning them to see what they can do for yours.

Speak to Canon - they may well do it free due to it being a known issue
