5D MkII Flash probs
Speedlite on camera and Studio flash connected via cable. Intermittent not firing, picture taken but no flash. Can happen after 6 exposures or 106 exposures, if I change lead to another Light it will often work ok again for a while. Tried new leads, switching camera off and on, Cf cards up to x100. No Joy.

Do your studio strobes not have built in " IR " recievers....?
What Speedlight are you using...?
If your speedlight has a sync socket, Try using that for the studio strobes, If the don't have Built in IR.
I don't very often use a speedlight in combo with studio lights, But when I do the strobes are all set on IR slave, They are then tiggered by the speedlight on the camera.
But normally I just use the studio lights with a radio trigger on the key light, All other strobes in use fire from thier onboard IR recievers, Never had a failure to fire issue to date.
