Thanks again a lot to consider, when I was younger and was a semi-pro I did save for the best lenses, I used the money that I made from commissions: that of course was with film cameras. Now at 72 I am reluctant to spend a great deal as I might not be using it for much longer and certainly, I will not use it as much, so I guess some compromise will become necessary. (I do of course hope to be around a great deal longer!!)

Sigms, both good and bad reports and a reasonable report on Tamron; best recommendation Nikon.
