Hi, a friend of mine has a 7D and the shutter will not stop firing until the battery is taken out anyone else had the same problem I wonder what the solution is as there are no repair shops open with the lockdown for him to turn to. Please help with any ideas why this has happened. Thanks Ian.

I suspect that what is happening is that the shutter does not get fully "cocked" by the cocking motor and gears, so it immediately pops back and this happens over and over, as long as the camera has power - which it does any time the battery is installed.
This normally requires a new shutter mechanism to repair, which will cost about camera's S/H value.

Thanks, Derek that is what I thought from MPBs too, so I suggest that my pal try to squeeze a 7DM11 as they have so many now.
