Looking to replace my ancient EPSON 1290S printer with a new A4 printer (can't really justify a new A3 printer). Any recommendation/advice would be appreciated.

Many thanks

Can't fault my Canon ip4500, its been replaced by Canon with several new models since I bought it, but well worth looking that range.

Mine is still going strong

I had an Epson R340 until recently. I got 6 years heavy use out of it before it gave up. I used it for all my printing for HND Photography and for my Creative Imaging degree courses, plus plenty other printing too. I'd recommend it to anyone. Replaced it with another Epson, the Photo 1400, which prints up to A3+. I'd recommend it too. It cost me 195 and I tracked down glossy A3 paper from Amazon at 14.50 for 100 sheets. Obviously uses twice as much ink when printing at A3, but I can get compatible ink at 12.50 a set. Epson ink is about 75 a set. HTH,
Alex.

For printing Black and white it fails in my experience which is why it now sits unused.
I only print Black and white which is why I went for an A3 (Epson 2880)

Most of the recent printers are much better while I sit and wait for the perfect dedicated Black and White printer, after all, Leica has done it with a camera tfor taking an image, the Monochrom.
