My daughter would like to photograph the sunrise at Durdle Door. In your opinion, when is the best time of year to capture it? Smile

If you look up the website Photographer's Ephemeris it shows the angles of the sun and moon. Sunsets and sunrise etc. You can enter various times and dates and you can work out where and when you need to be to get the angle of the sun that you want.
However as always you need to forecast the weather. Smile
Also I do not know the hours of the car parking.
Hope you get it right!

After having a look at various sources! (I have photographed Durdle Door but only in Summer) It seems that if your daughter wants to photograph the sun at the horizon through the arch she needs to be on the beach before dawn between mid December and early January because of the angle the sun rises. Again, the visibility of the sun depends on the cloud on that day.

Have a look at this guy's photos Karen. There are sunrises in abundance and it would give you a good idea of when he goes.

Yes, I found that information - I'm not sure they'll want to camp out in the winter months, it was more having the experience then making award winning photographs. Smile Thank you for your help though!

I thought so too Karen - unfortunately it has been quite a while since he posted anything so I'm hoping that he is OK as he was rather special in what he produced.
