Hi.
I would like to know if people on here use "Affinity Photo", if so what do you think of it, how much is it? and is it worth getting.
The reason I am asking is I have "Lightroom" on my laptop, but need something for my desk top.
Many thanks.

Affinity Photo is very good, but why not install Lightroom on your desktop?

Quite correct. You are licenced to have two copies of LR/PS. My main copy is on my PC but I have a copy on a Laptop for demonstrations. You can also de-activate a copy and thus have another copy elsewhere but you can only have two activated copies simultaneously.

I don't want to go down that road of subscription, so are you saying I can put my light room 5 from my LT to my DT?

I am not sure if I am able to put light room on my DT, can't remember if I had it for 1 or 2.

You are allowed two installs....

As Phil says, you can instal it on both.

And while you're at it, you might as well get Affinity as well.

It's cheap enough and is capable tasks that Lightroom can't carry out.

I'll stand to be corrected but my understanding is that it can also be installed on more than one machine with a single licence.

I have Luminar and Affinity installed.

I mostly use Luminar (Affinity only really for Panorama, HDR and the like).

Both I find really good and went this way when Adobe increased costs on CC.

For me Affinity is relevant to Photoshop while Luminar to Lightroom.

Go for the 30 day free trial to test them.

Hi DaveRyder.
What did you pay for both of these?

Not sure what Luminar is now - I bought Luminar 2018 when it was around £70. For that I had the upgraded Luminar 3 and Flex added.
Affinity I've had it a couple of years now. - If it's still running EPZ members where getting a discount Affinity Photo.

I have had Affinity photo for some time now and often process the same images in it and Photoshop. My hope is to stop my subscription to Adobe. Reluctantly I will be renewing my subscription to Adobe as Affinity is excellent in many areas and improving all the time.......but photoshop for me still has the edge, and I am unable to let it go, maybe next year.

It always will have.

Don't forget that when you could still buy Photoshop, it cost about ten times as much as Affinity.

There's a reason for that.

I would be interested to know what these tasks are that LR or PS cannot do. I am not aware that I am missing anything but then I it is difficult to miss something that you are not aware of.
