Alternative to CCleaner

I use the free CCleaner too - but delete it after I have used it for that very reason - pop-ups. I DO have a lot of pop-ups which annoys me too but I then have to reinstall each time I need it. I often wonder if firms ever consider that people disable stuff because of the adverts. I record most of my TV these days - and zoom through the adverts. Saves so much time!!

Quote:I stopped using CCleaner a while ago as the software has been linked with spyware (Google it)
I'd never heard of spyware issues with CCleaner until now, so I did, Google it, that is and it would appear that the problems occurred some years ago and that only 32bit versions were affected.
I'm not sure that I'd lay much store by some of those sites that were reporting it either.
Nowadays, according to some bloke on the internet, it's reckoned to be as safe as it (and anything else that you download from somewhere) and instal ever will be.

I use Wise Disk Cleaner and also Bleach Bit for a thorough cleaning once a week. PrivaZer will also clean temp files though its main use is for wiping internet log files etc for privacy. I can recommend all three.
