Well I treated myself to a new 30d yesterday as I thought I would take advantage of a great price of 639.00 and I would be able to apply for money back anniversary offer. I was delighted when it arrived today - however delight was short lived it appears despite (verbal) confirmation that it was the UK model I think it is possibly an import.

There was no warranty card and the charger cord is for oceanic countries.

Not too worried about these aspects but am bothered that I look likely to lose out on my 65.00 cashback offer as it has to be european model - does anyone have their 30d box handy that they could quote me the barcode from the side so I can check if it is import afterall.

I'd get on the phone to them if I were you and be prepared to return it if they don't sort it out to your satisfaction.

If they were advertising it as a UK model then you can get your credit card company involved if all else fails (assuming you paid by credit card).

There are other places that definately sell UK models for 649 and you'll be able to get the 65 cash back.

Thanks Steve for looking at that for me - mine was a body only but can see no GB reference on box at all - was it a UK plug or an adaptor as standard on charger?

Intend to call them in morning but thought I'd try and establish how likely it is that they have sent import - my problem is that is was a verbal confirmation that UK model certainly nothing else on site to suggest otherwise.

The company was

Hi, I found the above link and the 5th review down talks about imports from who are or used to be called C&A electronics and from what I read on the first review.

Hope its of some use to you... you are really best of sticking with well known places like Warehouseexpress which is the best place to shop, securely and in confidence that you will get what you need.

Some of the reviews say they had trouble returning the products so it might be best to see where you stand on that front with imported goods.

Hope this helps

The charger that came with my camera was supplied with a separate UK lead, its model number CB5-L.

Thanks all - looks like I've been duped unfortunately it was only a verbal confirmation that UK model with full warranty- will call company in morning and see what they have to say for themselves - contacted my cred card co to see if they can withhold transaction until resolved but they've advised not....

Thanks anyway..

It could be worth a chat with the Trading Standards people before you call the company - they might have some useful points.

Any how, I hope you get the right result

Hold the phones Mable!

My 30D was from Jessops and it only came with a continental-style (2-pin) adapter. Seeing as I have the box here too, I'll tell you exactly what the barcode says:
