Had to send my Sony RX10M4 in for what I thought was a minor repair, it wouldn't enter the Power Save mode, the estimate came back at a staggering £570, £376 of which was for the part "A2123014B SERVICE, DEVICE (LSV-1850A)".

Does anybody know what this is? On line it just comes up as a brown box with SONY on it.

By the way, the original retailer from whom I bought the camera, Panomaz, stepped right up and paid the estimate, no quibble, under their three year warranty!! Very impressive, so I saved over £500 on the initial purchase and I've got their warranty for another couple of years.

As a guess, going by price probably the processor or complete electronics system.

Ahhhhhh! They mentioned something about the lens and the only time the camera wouldn't go into Power Save mode was when the lens was extended beyond 200mm.

Many thanks!

Now I have the facts - it is the lens assembly.
Just got my camera back from Sony and yes, they have changed the lens assembly out (and sent Mella the old one) and this is what they look like! I presume the shutter/aperture assemblies are inside the lens as I cannot see through it.

Just seen this and have to say I also had great service from Panamoz, The small knob on left hand side of camera got dislodged so contacted Panamoz and told to send to Sony UK for estimate to fix, thought the cost to fix from Sony was way OOT but Panamoz paid up as soon as I sent a copy of receipt.
