Apple has released Aperture 1.1 update at a lower price of 219. See link

There are going to be some very unhappy bunnies about this easter as when it first came out it was 349.

Just seen an update on the US Apple site saying that they will be giving an e-coupon for the difference to people who bought 1.0. Which they can spend at the Apple online store. I assume this will get applied globally.

Edit -

UK customers will be getting a 130 e-rebate.

Yep thats right 130 rebate for 1.0 customers, free upgrade to 1.1 and the software now costs 219 new. Got to give Apple some credit here as they know they messed up and seem to of gone a long way to sort it out.

Edit-

Intial impressions on the update appear favourable at the moment but it's still early doors.

I was thinking 219 was a lot for what it is.

John it does seem a lot but then when you consider how much Capture One Pro and Portfolio 8 cost togeather 368, it is quite a bit cheaper in comparison and it means you only have to have one program to do the job of two.

Methinks Apple can see Adobe Lightroom hovering on the horizon with a 'competitive' price Wink

A more significant factor, possibly, is that Lightroom does not need such a highly specified system requirements - I downloaded the beta trial and it appears to be working fine - so if it is reasonably priced when officially released would tempt me.
