Are you missing taking photographs?

As with Malc. The camera comes out with me on our daily walks, I usually find something. Plus quirky details in the house. Plus improvised Still Life on the barbecue.
I think photography is actually important now, to capture a particular period in our lifetime, and the experience of isolation. A local group is putting together a time capsule, including photos of empty streets, supermarket queues etc. It's tomorrow's history.

Like Dave, it's the not getting out though to be fair I did say to myself to look more locally this year, two or three miles radius which I could have done. Few if any people around normally so keeping a distance would be easy. Sod's Law states that when you want an empty scene someone will appear when you least want them.
I go through periods of taking few photos in any case so the current situation hasn't worried me, photographically speaking, as much as it might have.

Ordinarily, with this much time on my hands, I'd have been spending time in London; my favoured destination, or somewhere on the coast but getting there has been the problem.
I've got access to countryside on my doorstep but taking photographs of greenery and trees has no appeal and there are only so many ways of photographing the dog.
For all that, I still carry a camera wherever I go and I'm finding subjects in places that I probably wouldn't usually look.
I'm also using my film camera more frequently.
I'm finding it difficult to resist making a collection of "covid haircuts!"

As a fair weather photographer I had planned to travel to various places in the south of England in spring & summer. It is not that I don't go out in the cold but I usually combine landscape photography with infrared, so for me, it is generally better with strong light and green leaves. If I do go out in winter it is usually a walk to the beach.
I haven't done much street photography since the middle of 2019 for various reasons also.
But I have entertained myself on the kitchen table! (First attempts at waterdrop photography and some more macro.)
So I have missed being out, but have learned something new and made bread.
(I haven't put petrol in my car since Christmas.)

I think I've taken more over the last 8 weeks than the 8 before.
I'm lucky we have some pleasant walks from our house and a garden providing some interest.
The two weekly challenges have given some interesting themes.
Additionally I've been able to read up on some of the birds I've photographed (changed that last word from 'shot').
