Battery Pack

Hi everyone.
Got myself a flash from a bidding site.
The seller also gave me an external battery pack which is a Canon copy. An EP-N4.
Having never seen one, let alone used one, I have a question.
When the pack is attached does the flash also need internal batteries?

Hi, as far as I can work out, yes, you use batteries in the main flash as well, and the added battery pack will allow for faster recharge times / more shots with flash.
