I think that you will find the search very difficult. Why not just put some slides in, possibly less valuable ones in case it jams and try operating it?
The projector is quite old and the big tungsten bulb might cause colour casts, and there might be some dust inside being blown around by the cooling fan. You will possibly get better results from a cheap dedicated scanner.
A few years ago I bought a used mid range scanner from Ebay, scanned 100's of my 35mm slides successfully, then sold the scanner back, lost only £5 on the deal.

Yup...agreed...while Bausch & Lomb were well respected optical “stuff” producers, these days...the way the world has moved on....this unit may not be such a generous gift after all...I’d agree with the above from “altitude 50” and do a bit more research on modern devices unfortunately...
