The Rankin programme was quite interesting but I gave up on Bailey after 10 minutes.

Looks like Rankin was using Phase One Cameras and using Capture One DB for his processing.

I watched the programme. Using a camera / smartphone was only one of the challenges the contestants had to complete.
Seemed to me that Rankin was copying the Masters of Photography format, although without the dismissal aspect.
To be honest I found the programme to be quite boring.

Rankins' Great British Photography Challenge programme is an enjoyable watch for me (Seen one episode), its a bit like all the other wanna be life style programmes (baking, makeup, house styling, building) and this makes it much more accessible for the whole family to watch together. So I get a photography fix whilst other get to enjoy the general nature of different people in a competition.
I like how the photo taking passion of some of the contestants comes through and how people approach ideas in different ways. To some extent it also helps explain to the wider family why i like shooting strangers/getting up before dark/lying on the floor looking at a fungus etc.

I'm glad they don't exclude contestants along the way as you get to consistently see more ideas. I also like how Rankin and his two assistants all comment on what they do/don't like and why. I may not fully agree with them all the time but that shows that perhaps my ideas are not always good commercial ideas.

I'll need to look up the other programs Chris mentions later....
