Is there a 10 big stopper filter that can fit my Nikon 24-70 lens with a screw thread rather than using a Lee Filter holder. Screw thread is 47mm

I recently got a 10 stop filter from a company called SRB Griturn. Not had a chance to get out with it yet, but from my testing so far there is minimal colour cast (if any), and it is actually 10 stops. Not something that can be said of a previous 10 stop filter I had. Sad

They do them in 77mm sizes , which I think is what you need, rather than the 47mm you stated. Wink Unless it is a different lens I don't know about.

I'm not an expert on Nikon lenses but 47mm filter size seems very small for a 24-70 zoom. However, you can get a 52mm 10 stop filter made by Tiffen on Amazon HERE and use a stop down ring ie. 47mm on one side for the lens and 52mm on the other to attach the filter. This is the only solution I can think of but others may know where you can buy a 47mm 10 stop filter.

The Nikon 24-70 should be a 77mm screw thread.

The Nikkor 24-70/f2.8 is definitely a 77mm filter thread.

I have screw in 10 stoppers and a Lee square one. The screw in ones are harder to use as you have to compose and focus etc before screwing it on your lens, hoping you dont nudge it or change the focus distance. The Lee big stopper in a Lee holder n comparrison is a dream to use, slot it into the holder and simply clip it on and off the filter holder as easy as pie.
I spent a lot on my screw in one and it never gets used unles I decide to double stack it with the Lee.

I have a formatt pro stop on my tamron 24-70. This uses the cheap cokin p holder so the combined cost of filter and holder is a lot less than the Lee stopper or the Lee holder. Colour cast if any is easily fixed in processing and as its made of resin if dropped or stuffed into a camera bag it wont break. As with any 10 stopper make sure you have a very sturdy tripod as image softness may be a problem due to movement. This is especially true on a windy beach or clifftop.
