I reckon its Aprils fools day in Korea as well, why would any one rip their 800 quid camera apart just to spray it black?

I like the silver. My new laptop is silver and looks much better than the boring old black lump.

Reminds me of an old Ian Jury song. What a waste!

I prefer silver too - or, better still, a combination of silver and black.

Black on its own can look a trifle plasticky sometimes.

Can't think why anyone would want to do it but it's no April Fools, the images on that site have been up there since February. Who cares what colour it is as long as you can use it to take good photographs!

My old Pentax MZ-7 was silver. No probs. However, I saw the Nikon D70 in the flesh for the first time today and next to the 300D it looks cosmetically better (for what it's worth).

We have two camera shops where I live (Warrington) that exist less than 50 feet from each other. Jessops is one, selling the D70 kit at 850. The other has the same for 999. Price wars

if your takin pics through glass a black body wouldn't reflect as much.
B&Q do a nice line in matt black emulsion if your desperate!

If you are taking pics through glass your lens should be up against the glass - so the body colour doesn't matter.

I think some cams are available in blue and other colours. I wonder why this hasn't caught on? Wink

Paul (90thminute) - are the two shops selling the same kit? The 'normal' kit that most shops seem to be selling includes the Nikon 18-70mm lens, but Jessop's site shows a 28-80mm Nikon and 18-50 Sigma (899.90).

It doesn't always apply - I have to take shots of tropical fish and if I'm too close it causes lots of problems so I have to be about a foot away from the glass, also if you were taking a photo of a picture in a gallery you couldn't get up to the glass because you wouldn't get the whole painting in shot.

Jessops do two kits, (i work there) one is with the 18-70 @ 999 and the 28-80 @ 850.
I like the 300d black but it would still feel plasticky which im not to fond of
