Black and White

I may be really slow here, but I have just noticed a black and white category in the drop down list for uploading shots. Has this been there long?

Anyway, I just wanted to bring it to everyones attention if, like me, they hadn't noticed it.

(apologies if someone has mentioned this before and I missed it!)

Looks like a new category - only ten pictures in it at the moment!

Pete set it up either last night or this morning following on from this thread.

It's one of the better things to come out of atget's visit. Must admit his thread hijacking and arty exhortations were getting on my nerves a bit. But the Black and White category is a great idea - and, of course, there's room for all shades of opinion and ability on here. He did get me thinking more deeply about photography - so I'm eating a little humble pie.

Should that section be called monochrome, or is it just for high contrast shots?

And toned pics are banned! Wink

So after months of working exclusively in b/w we get a special category just as I've started using colour again - groovy.

The new category has just been added. Any old pics will take a while to transfer. We're building an admin feature that allows us to go and change them as we see them. At the moment it's a time consuming job through the database, so all existing ones will have to stay as they are for the moment. Toned monochrome images are okay to go in this section too.
