This looks like a fantastic tool, but is it really woth 40 - has anyone tried it. Is it just a gadget version of those clothes lint removers?

Ella.
How l managed without one for all the years l`ve been involved in photography l dont know. If only it had been available years ago how much frustration could have been avoided in the darkroom.
My advice would be try one if possible and you wont regret it. Good product, good support and worth the money in my opinion.
Regards, Colin

I bought one last year and it certainly removes dust and hairs. You still need to keep your work area clean at all times. I've found that the usual setup of the scanner next to the monitor leads to a dust problem (probably static) - you just need to run your finger over down the screen to see the dust that is attracted to it or is lying around the surfaces below.
I now keep my scanner to the side where there is more space.
I don't have ICE on my Scan Dual II but since I scan mostly Kodachromes and FP4 I don't think ICE would help me anyway.
I'm surprised what the booflet picks up - its there on the pad for you to see at the end of the session.

There was a review of one on www.ukphotographics.co.uk website in the February edition - it seems to have done well.

Unit arrived this morning - will try it and see how it works later tonight.
The rocket looks like a bulb blower to me you can see one at http://www.bhphotovideo.com/product/259157/GIBA/REG/426
It will probably blow the dusts elsewhere!
