Browser display

16 Nov 2011 10:46AM
Depending on which browser I user my website displays differently.

Using google chrome the layout has box shadow appearance, but using explorer box shadow is missing. Same thing happens another pc. Not a great problem in the scheme of things but wondering why!

Anyone got any ideas?

Unfortunatly, Internet Explorer doesn't support the box shadows styling. All other web browsers do

Looks the same to me in IE9

I tell a lie. On Chrome, every page has a horizontal section across the bottom, below the "powered by foliopic" line. On IE9 I don't see that. (in fact it looks better)

Chrome, Firefox and Safari all have the lower horiz grad line.
IE and Opera don't.

You'll often find browser specific CSS to handle browsers' different implementations and overcome deficiencies so that all users can see the site.
