This coming week or maybe next week I will be looking to buy a Canon 50D body as an upgrade to my Canon 400D & was wondering where would be the best place to order it from.
The best price on the web is on E-bay at 709.00 but I'm not to sure about going down that road, next best is 749.00 at Crazy Cameras but after a quick search on here nothing came back so again not sure. Next up is Amazon UK at 849.00 a bit more expensive but from a well known company. Any help with this would be most appreciated.
Also would there be any problem fitting my Sigma 10-20mm to this new body.
Thanks,
Chris.

Not a problem with your Sigma 10-20. Lower prices are available from reputable companies. See http://www.camerapricebuster.co.uk/

Go to your local jessops and see if they will price match and beat it by a quid!! If you lived locally to me I could almost guarantee you would get a deal!!Smile

personally i would save a few more months and get a second hand 1d mk2, well worth the difference personally.

I went from a 400D to a 50D and am very happy - I also have a 10-20 and that works fine (though it would be no use on a 1D Mk2)

I went to my local camera shop (Sussex Cameras) and they price matched what I could get online - OK, not exactly but on the basis I could get a demo and check the camera and knew I could take it back and get it fixed if I had a problem, I was willing to pay slightly more than the best online price.

They offered me 150 quid part ex on the 400D (including lens, battery grip, etc) but I stuck it on eBay and got 338 for it.

So my advice is not to push too hard for the best price you can get - having service and support you can rely on is much more important than saving 20 quid.

It might be worth holding fire a week or so on the 50D. If the muchly rumoured 7D/60D rears it's head as expected, 50D prices will have to fall...

Looks as though the 7D will not be a direct replacement for the 50D, and the 60D will not be available till next spring- all is rumoured to be announced tomorrow 1st Sept!

Canon had better pull a rabbit from the bag bloody quick, their press camera is more out of date than the ark and the mid range models are falling well behind the competition.
The 5d mkii is severely over priced and packs in if it gets wet .
Canon appear to have lost the lead.
