Off to Caernarfon for a week with a group of friends mid October 2013.

Yes, I know I can search the internet for places to visit, Caernarfon Castle for one Smile, and I / we have done so, but do any of you have some ideas of places to visit for photography that is NOT on the normal tourist circuit ?

Thanks for any ideas that might be forthcoming Wink

Hi JJGEE,
If you like waterfallsGrin there is Aber falls which is only about 15 mins from Caernarfon, there is the mount at Caernarfon for some panoramic views, Red Wharf Bay on Anglesey and Beddgelert. You might even see me there taking a few photos.Smile Dave.

Beddgelert and the Aberglaslyn Pass (just south of Beddgelert), Welsh Highland Railway both in the Aberglaslyn Pass between the tunnels and the horseshoe curves above Beddgelert, slate tips in the Nantlle valley and also at Llanberis and Dinorwic - all worth a look.

Try moelfre on Anglesey just round the corner from Red Dwarf Bay and the little port at Amlwch.
Also Lligwy bay.

Another question if I may Smile

En route to Caernarfon thinking of stopping off in the Llangollen area for sunrise, weather permitting, so does anyone have any suggestions for good viewpoints. ?

In Llangollen find the "Chain Bridge Hotel" then round the back is a canal leading to a river. some nice shots to be had.
