Our club had an excellent speaker this week. Sheila Davies CPAGB, on what she called "exotic wildlife". This is sort of a travelog of her visits to other countries, such as Africa, but specifically her photographs of the animals found there.

She started with lots of very useful hints & tips if you're planning a trip yourself, then showed various AV's of her incredible wildlife pics.

I could probably get her details, if you're interested in booking her.

I believe she said she was from Southport, so please keep this in mind if your club is not in the North West.

A quick Google search shows her name all over the place, as being well placed in various competitions. This certainly looks like her work, at Chorley PS. link

Don't mean to hijack the the thread here but the original was a way back...

Our little club offers the following;

Occasional competitions - some 'internal' some inter-club
Critique evenings - members are encouraged to put forward images for very open discussion amongst members
Member evenings - sort of like a presentation but from our own members
Visiting lecturers from the normal circuits
Basic photography evenings - how to and why to set your camera, the real basics of composition, exposure etc
Photoshop evenings
Studio evenings
Outdoor evenings
Model on location evenings

AND, "camera evenings" ie bring your camera along and we will experiment with still life, water droplets, painting with life, etc - the only thing is we are now out of ideas for this specific evening and desperately need some inspiration PLEASE.

As anyone that has been involved in a club will know, it can be very difficult to get members to put forth their ideas and with only 2 people attempting to organise all of the above it can (and has) become a problem.
