I have a Metz 15 MS - 1 ring flash which I bought to use on my Sony A77 11, since then I have bought the Sony A711 and find the connector is not compatible with the new camera, I can't find a cable through the uk suppliers for Metz but they suggested using a hotshot adaptor I have tried that but it won't work, as this is not a cheap ring flash I would like to use it but if I can't get it to work will have to let it go which will be a shame as it is so good Sad

Anyone any ideas please?

Have you contacted Metz directly in Germany? I have found them helpful in the past..

It was some time ago that I contacted them and I cannot remember how I did it.. There are contact details on their site, you will have to try to get through to the German side rather than the UK.......

You can trigger the Metz from another flash on the camera in slave mode. It's not TTL but I use it all the time that way.

Thank you David

I have been in touch with Metz and the guy there has put me right, I actually had what I needed to use it and its working like a dream.
For anyone who has experienced the same problem you need a Pixel TF-324 hot shoe convertor or similar, having that on your hotshot put the lead on that and the flash, to set the flash up hold the select button on the left down until it reads see in the window, now scroll through the menus until you find Sync hit okay and you have it use the outer buttons to adjust your power output Smile
I hope this helps anyone who has the same problem Smile

Glad to hear that Charlotte. I find the flash perfect for macro shots when I'm doing my videos but I often use it off camera triggered as a normal flash since it's powerful enough for most flash tasks I have.

Thank you David I will try that sometime, mostly though I tend to use my studio LED lights they are proving to be very useful😀😀
